I Ain't..............

Happy New Year everyone...I hope everyone's 2009 has started out well!! I know a lot of people have made some New Year's Resolutions and many people have asked if I made any. Well, I really have never made any because I know how "non-committed" I am to these things. So basically I figure...what's the use?!?! But on our long drive home to Nashville from Ridgecrest, Jared (our philosophical friend), posed a question to Leslie, Susan and me about where we would like to see ourselves this time next year? I was really impressed with my friend's responses. I have watched them grow into amazing godly people and it was very encouraging to see their faith and to see their desire for their life. It wasn't superficial things like...lose weight, have more money, or become a better dresser (even though we know Jared was thinking this). Their responses were things that will have an eternal affect on their life and others around them. The question then came to me and I really wasn't sure what I wanted to say. Needless to say this was my response: to be stable for a year, to continue walking with passion and strength in the direction God has placed me on, and to prayfully explore some desires God has placed on my heart. I really feel like the past 2 years, and especially the past 6 months, have been leading me up to this "new year"...to new dreams, new hopes, and even new fears (if that makes sense at all). I can't wait to see what God has in store for me in 2009. If I've learned one thing over the past crazy two years of my life it is that God is faithful; faithful beyond my finite understanding.

With all of this said...I have one more resolution I would like to make. I know I know it's a little late, but I was inspired yesterday. So on my way to Chick-fil-a last night to hang out with some friends, I was sitting at a red light (a forever long red light) and a song came on that I hadn't heard in forever. Like always...I was singing my sweet little heart out (very passionately I might say) and dancing (like always) and the chorus...well, I'll let you decide. So my friends...I leave you with this:

I ain't settling for just getting by

I've had enough so so for the rest of my life

Tired of shooting to low, so raise the bar high

Just enough ain't enough this time

I ain't settling for anything less than everything, yeah

Thank you Jennifer Nettles...Thank. You.

What Am I Doing Here...

Well...welcome!! I have no idea how I got talked into starting a blog (thanks Emily & Erin), but I was convinced that I had something to write about. So...I'm not sure how long this phase will last, but we will try it out. I hope the things I have to say will challenge you, will cause you to think, and will make you laugh (even though I'm not too funny). I hope I can be somewhat amusing, but don't expect a Leslie Metcalf, Erin McGown, or MeLissa Gavarrette...it ain't gonna happen :) I love each and everyone of you and know that I am blessed to have ya'll in my life. Can't wait to write about the adventures God has taken me on and continues to take me on.
